										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Well, real time search has been a nice topic for discussion for quite some time now amongst the search enthusiast, there has also been a lot of speculations if Google is going to acquire Twitter or not. With all that happening Google has officially announced in their blog yesterday that they have got into an agreement with Twitter to include Twitter updates in relevant search results. </p>
<p>Including Twits in real time updates on search results would definitely enhance the user experience to great extent particularly for certain time and place sensitive searches. While it is not something that they are launching immediately, they are definitely working on how they can smoothly integrate Twits with Google search to offer an overall better search experience to their users.</p>
<p>Google have sighted an example related to weather conditions in a ski resort, while that is definitely a good possible use, I think once the Twitter and Google search integration becomes complete we might get to see some more interesting info like the following<span id="more-49"></span> :</p>
<p>a) Traffic conditions in street : people often tweet when they get stuck in traffic somewhere</p>
<p>b) Real time updates on any event / accident via Tweeples who might be present at the spot</p>
<p>c) Special offers that are exclusive to Twitter users now would start reaching more audience , example: <a href="http://twitter.com/DellOutlet" rel="nofollow">@Dell</a></p>
<p>d) Updated Flight information right from Google search results page via Twits &#8211; a la <a href="http://twitter.com/JetBlue" rel="nofollow">@JetBlue</a></p>
<p>e) Movie Reviews ; Short and crisp feedback on movies, very common in Twitter.</p>
<p>These are just some of my random thoughts on how things might change once this integration is complete.</p>
<p>Also, the SEO in me is thinking about a different aspect. Will Google be respecting links that a website gets from Twits while deciding on the organic rankings ? For those of you who would like to pic your brains on this, here is a small piece of information..</p>
<p><span>Bit.ly, tinyurl.com, Su.pr &#8211; some of the popular URL shortening services used in Twitter actually offers a 301 redirects to the main URL <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/13.0.1/72x72/1f642.png" alt="🙂" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /></span></p>
<p>If not as tradition links, is there going to be any direct correlation between Twitter mentions for a website and its organic rankings ?</p>
<p>What do you think ?</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Twitter is really big now and it is still growing at an exponential rate. Users are glued to it and as I see it in most people, the tendency to Twitter is infectious. But besides the joy of Twittering what if you could make some money out of it ? wouldn&#8217;t it be better ?</p>
<p>Well, there are tons of promises around that talks about making you reach on the web or getting you thousands of followers on Twitter, however, most of them would ask you to pay them to avail their service and or otherwise would not really deliver what they promise. I come across a lot of such &#8220;money making opportunities&#8221; like every other Twitter and was about to negate this one too but though to take a quick look and this time it I am lucky.</p>
<p>I came across this application called <a href="http://bit.ly/IUegB" rel="nofollow">Sponsored Tweets</a> from Izea that connects potential advertisers with publishers on Twitter and the best part of this application is that it doesn&#8217;t send Tweets from your account directly &#8211; you can actually review and approve the message that would be Twitted from your account ( at times you can even write it yourself) and if you don&#8217;t like it just don&#8217;t approve it.<span id="more-53"></span></p>
<p>Once you sign up with <a href="http://bit.ly/IUegB" rel="nofollow">Sponsored Tweets</a> ( pretty simple and fast &#8211; no long forms to fill), you can quote the price you want to get paid for every tweet that you send out on behalf of the advertiser. If an advertiser likes your profile ( based on your network, popularity, nature of tweets etc) he would contact you with his offer. If you agree and send out the advertisement message through your Twitter account your Sponsored Tweets account gets credited for the money. You can then withdraw it almost instantly to your Paypal account.</p>
<p>It is a fairly simple and logical process and with a company like <a href="http://www.izea.com/" rel="nofollow">Izea</a> behind it this is scam proof. Like any other advertising network the price you get would depend largely on your quality as a publisher which would take into account multiple aspects. Some of the factors that I feel would be necessary for you to make good money at Sponsored Tweets would be ..</p>
<ul>
<li>The number of followers and friends you have. While followers are of big importance I believe advvertisers would also like to check the ratio between followers and friends.</li>
<li>How active you are on Twitter &#8211; mostly judged by the number of Tweets you make, RTs you get etc</li>
<li>The quality of your followers and friends &#8211; are their social media influencers in your network ? are your followers mostly from a niche/ industry ?</li>
</ul>
<p>Also, make sure you have a Paypal account because that is the only way <a href="http://bit.ly/IUegB">Sponsored Tweets</a> pay at this point.</p>
<p>For advertisers, I think this is a great opportunity particularly for the ones with a tech/ web based products or service. You can get publishers to talk about your product at throw away prices and if you have a big budget you can probably get some celebrity like KimKardashian or Kendra Wilkinson to tweet about your product / service or website. You can see a complete list of Publishers under the Tweeters tab on their website.</p>
<p>So Happy Tweeting and hope you make some money as well !</p>
<div><span><a href="http://bit.ly/IUegB" rel="nofollow">Click here to Join Sponsored Tweets</a></p>
<p></span></div>
<p><span><a href="http://be-a-magpie.com/lia5l1" rel="nofollow">Magpie</a> is another advertising network that offers similar service to Sponsored Tweets however, I have heard that there payout is probably not as good as ST. Also, they would send payments only after you reach $50 mark.</span> One good thing about Magpie though is that they allow all ad tweets to be preceeded or followed by a short notifice like &#8220;Ad&#8221; which maintains the integrity of your Twitter profile to your followers.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Twitter is undoubtedly the most popular micro-blogging platform today and is extremely popular among bloggers, internet marketers and other web savvy people. Twitter has also been an effective source in driving traffics to blog and marketers have been using this pretty effectively. There are already tools in the market that would automatically get new posts from your blog feeds and post them to Twitter under your profile.</p>
<p>While this might be an easy way for you to present your blog post to the Twitterati, people soon realize that these are automated messages and tends to ignore them. Also, not 100% of your posts are good, but with this even the most silliest ones are posted on Twitter which tends to do more harm to your reputation than any good.</p>
<p>However, if you really want to use Twitter the way it should be and want your readers to Twit your good posts, you can do that as well. Just integrate some small code snippets in your blog and you are done.</p>
<p><span>Integrating Twitter with WordPress Blogs</span></p>
<p><span>Method 1</span></p>
<p>Step 1: Open the header.php file of WordPress and insert the following lines just before the closing tag.</p>
<p><span id="more-83"></span></p>
<hr />
<p><code><!--?php if ( is_single() ) { ?--><br />
<script charset="utf-8" type="text/javascript" src="http://bit.ly/javascript-api.js?version=latest&amp;login=tweettrackjs&amp;apiKey=R_7e9987b2fd13d7e4e881f9cbb168f523">// <![CDATA[

// ]]&gt;</script><br />
<script charset="utf-8" type="text/javascript" src="http://s.bit.ly/TweetAndTrack.js?v=1.01">// <![CDATA[

// ]]&gt;</script><br />
<!--?php } ?--></code></p>
<hr />
<p>Step 2: Open the single.php file and insert the following line just below the_content() function.</p>
<hr />
<p><code><a onclick="return TweetAndTrack.open(this, '&lt;?php echo get_permalink();?&gt;');" href="#"><br />
<span style="display: none;">Reading: <!--?php the_title();?--></span><br />
Tweet This: Send Page to Twitter</a></code></p>
<hr />
<p><span>Method 2</span></p>
<p>You can use the Plugin offered by Twit This. It&#8217;s really really good and easy to use however, it would require the users to give their Twitter user id and password.</p>
<p><span><br />
Integrating Twitter with Blogger Blogs ( Blogspot )</span></p>
<p>Twitter with Blogger Widget Templates</p>
<p>a) Go to Blog layout and then click Edit HTML. You will see a link for &#8220;Expand Widget template&#8221; , Click on it.</p>
<p>b) Copy the entire code and save it in a notepad for backup. Never ever do any tweak to your widget templates without taking a proper backup, they can be pretty messy to fix once you break them.</p>
<p>c) Find the line that has got the class post-footer in the XML template.</p>
<p>d) Copy the code below and paste it near the class</p>
<hr />
<p><code><br />
<script charset="utf-8" type="text/javascript" src="http://bit.ly/javascriptapi.js?version=latest&amp;login=tweettrackjs&amp;&lt;br&gt;apiKey=R_7e9987b2fd13d7e4e881f9cbb168f523">// <![CDATA[

<script charset='utf-8' src='http://s.bit.ly/TweetAndTrack.js?v=1.01' type='text/javascript'/>
<a expr:onclick='&quot;return TweetAndTrack.open(this, \&quot;&quot; + data:post.url +
&quot;\&quot;);&quot;' href='#'>
<span style='display:none;'>Check This: <data:post.title/></span>Twit This</a>  </b:if></code>

<hr>

<strong>
Integrating Twitter with Blogger Classic Template ( Blogspot)</strong>a) Go to the templates tab in the blogger dashboard

b) Copy and paste the existing template code in a notepad for backup. These templates are relatively easy to fix but why take a chance ?

c) Find the lines

<hr>

<code>

<div class="post">

<h2><a href="<$BlogItemPermalinkURL$>" title="permalink">
<$BlogItemTitle$></a></code>

<hr>

d) Paste the code below beside this. This will get the "Twit This" link to appear beside your blog post title.

<hr>

<code><ItemPage>
<a href='javascript:(function(){TwitThisPop=window.open
(%22http://twitthis.com/twit?url=%22+encodeURIComponent(location.href)+%22&amp;
title=%22+((document.title)%20?%20encodeURIComponent(document.title.replace
(/^\s*|\s*$/g,%27%27))%20:%20%22%22),%20%22TwitThisPop%22,%20%22width=600,
%20height=500,%20location,%20status,%20scrollbars,
%20resizable,%20dependent=yes%22);
%20setTimeout
(%22TwitThisPop.focus()%22,%20100);%20})()'>Twit This</a></ItemPage></code>

<hr>

e) If you want to put the Twit This link after the post , paste the code just below

<hr>

<code>

<div class="text"><$BlogItemBody$></code>

<hr>

<span>Points to Note:</span>
a) The code above would get the Twit This link only on your individual post pages and not on your blog home page. This is done in this way because the code picks up the URL of the current page and if this code appears on the home page of your blogger blog it would post the home page URL to Twitter when someone clicks on it but the post might move from the home page after a week and visitors ollowing the Twitter link would not find the proper content.

b) The blogger classic template is using the TwitThis service and would require visitors to put in their user id and password while posting to Twitter.

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Corporates using social media to bolster their sales and brand names is no longer a big news. There are many who have been using various social media platforms to their benefit. Dell has been known to use the new media with proficiency and they have done it once again with Twitter.</p>
<p>Dell is offering exclusive discounts to its Twitter followers. It was reported by Internetews in December that Dell generated more than $1 million in revenue over the last one and half years through sales alert via Twitter.</p>
<p>All who follows Dell on Twitter gets an alert every time there is a discounted sale at the company&#8217; Home Outlet Store. They can either purchase the product themselves or forward the offer to friends and family.<br />
<span id="more-97"></span><br />
To take its Twitter campaign to the next level Dell announces discount for the 17,727 people who follow <a href="http://twitter.com/DellOutlet" rel="nofollow">@DellOutlet</a>. It would provide product links and when the users click the link it takes them to the specific product page on Dell.com</p>
<p>All these 17,727 people receive the marketing message from Dell on regular basis. While many corporates has been trying to explore Twitter as a marketing channel Dell is probably the most successful one. Also the irony is , Twitter is yet to find a way in which they can monetize the platform whereas others are getting their fortune out of it.</p>
